Black and white paired together are the easiest and most timeless colors in fashion. The great thing about pulling out your basics such as a white t-shirt and black pants is that you have the opportunity to pair them with pretty much anything.

I wanted to create a salt and pepper look from head to toe, and that’s just what I did. I started off with a white t and faux leather jogger pants. To elevate these basics pieces, I paired a checker hat, oversize sunglasses and western heeled mules. Without these accessories the look would be dull.

Next time you decide to wear a plain white t-shirt, to elevate the piece, strip it down the middle for a distressed look. It’s easy to re-purpose old shirts, it just takes a little thinking outside the box.
